Looking for recipes – A PLR Solution

Serve Up Yummy Articles for your Blog Readers

Are you scratching your head, trying to figure out how to get more content on your blog without writing all day long? Sometimes it can be hard to come up with interesting topics that your readers are interested in reading. And, how do you attract the search engines to your blog anyway? The answer is “Recipes!” By adding a recipe-of-the-day to your blog, you’ll ensure that you’ve always got fresh, yummy content for your visitors to “eat up”. But, how do you find recipes that you can use? Before I share some of my favorite ways, let’s get the legal bit out of the way.

Recipes are not public domain. There are copyright laws that apply to recipes, especially the directions/instructions and collections. I recommend that you check google for “recipe copyright” to read the full story. Basically it states that recipes can be copyrighted, so you can’t just copy and paste them or type from a cookbook. That being stated, there are other (much easier) ways to get recipes that you can use on your blog.

Now let’s cover my favorite ways to find recipes that you can use on your mom blog.

Your Very Own Recipes

Do you have recipes that you make for your family? It could be meatloaf with a special ingredient or salsa with a twist. Take a look at all of the meals that you have personally invented (or altered).

If so, they are yours to publish as you wish. Enter them into your blog.

Friends & Family

Does your mother have a special chili recipe that everyone loves? Ooh, and that spicy dip that your sister always brings to football parties.

Ask your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. to contribute their favorite recipes to your collection.

Hire a Writer

The second way to get recipes for your blog is to hire a writer. You can usually find a ghostwriter who will create recipes for your blog. If you don’t want to look for a ghostwriter, hit up the local culinary school and see if you can find a foodie who is looking to make some money on the side. Hire that person to type in his/her favorite recipes and you’ll be set.

If you can’t think of anyone – check out Shelancers.com for writers.

PLR Recipes

The fourth (and my personal favorite) way to get recipes for your blog is to purchase PLR recipes. The great thing about PLR recipes is:

You don’t have to stress your brain trying to come up with all the recipes yourself.

You don’t have to pay the big bucks for a writer.

You can edit the recipes as much or as little as you’d like.

You can use and reuse the recipes as much as you’d like. You can even compile them into a downloadable cookbook that you can sell from your site.

You can buy PLR very cheap. Some PLR services sell their recipes and food articles for under $1.

Of course there are some rules with PLR recipes and depending on where you get your recipes the rules vary. For instance, most PLR content providers will not allow you to submit PLR articles to article directories or offer them as private label rights content elsewhere. So, be sure to check the rules before purchasing any PLR content.

One last piece of advice: Be sure to edit your PLR recipes so they are different than everyone else’s. You can do this by:

Changing the directions slightly.

Changing the title.

Adding a little something to it – i.e. suggestion of foods or drinks that would go well with the recipe.

You now know just how simple it is to add a “recipe of the day” to your blog. I hope you get started right away so your blog bring in some hungry readers.

Go to YummyPLR.com to get PLR recipes every month.

Using the PLR you buy quickly

Here I always try to keep current with the best PLR (private label rights) offers I find from publishers that I trust. Occasionally I like to change it up and show you exactly how I use the items that I buy.

Last week Alice Seba and the DIYplr.com team released a package of 4 WordPress reports that I grabbed as I have a blog and many products about WordPress.

One of the things I do on my blog is each Sunday I do a rant. It makes me feel better and it does provide quality content for my readers. This week the topic was “[Sunday Rant] Fantastico Recommended – NOT!

Now one of the reports was on installing WordPress. I took that report and added a cover page with a sponsored by ad for my Profitable Blog Steps product.

Then there was one little tweak that the report left out that would make the installation much more secure so I added one image and a paragraph of text to explain it.

Finally I added an about the author page at the end.

Now I converted it to a pdf and uploaded it to the blog.

After ranting about the problem of Fantastico I gave the report away for my readers to have an easy way to install their blog and make it secure. I made it down loadable directly because I had added monetization to the report through the sponsored by section and my author bio.

This allowed me to add value to my readers and I would not be surprised if this post gets quite a few back links and extra readership.

Now doing this was less than 10 minutes to create from start to finish because I have done these before and have some of the pieces like the sponsor ad and author bio saved so that I could just copy and paste those in.

The only two tools I needed was Snag It to grab the image I added and Microsoft Word to edit the page and create the pdf. I could have used Open Office to do the same thing so it does not take a lot of software to be able to do this.

So for the cost of the reports and 10 minutes of my time I was able to create a quick report to offer more value to my readers. I still have three other reports that I will use in the future and may package all of them as a Freebie to build my list.

Because it promotes a product of mine I could easily take this report and make it rebrandable and let my affiliates give it away too. Because I use Easy Viral PDF Rebrander this would just take me changing the links and adding it to my rebranding center.

This is the power of PLR as, yes I could have put the whole report together myself. I have the knowledge and the skills but it would have taken about an hour to put the whole thing together and time is my most valuable commodity. What about you?

Halloween Product Review PLR

Talk about a hot topic and the right timing. This summer there was a big launch going around about making money on Halloween costumes. If you pay attention to what is being launched I am sure that you saw it.

If you follow Howie Schwartz you know that seasonal niches like this are ones he attacks regularly. Really easy to see why too.

If you are interested in getting involved in this niche the time to be doing it is right now. Halloween is only 11 weeks away and the work you do this year will help you next as it rolls around.

I just found these reviews of 20 Halloween Amazon Products with PLR that would be a perfect start for your Halloween site.

If you are looking for a hot niche and ready to get started right now here it is for you.

Your Private Label Rights Questions

One of the things that works well on another of my blogs is to ask for questions. So may be time to start doing that here.

Just about every successful marketer I know uses private label rights in their marketing yet I always see people knocking the use of private label rights.

Usually those knocking PLR have no idea how to use it effectively. Even worse is that they see it as a no work solution. Just buy and use it.

So it is time to get rid of some of the falsehoods and help you grow your business quickly.

PLR especially good private label rights articles, reports and e-books can save you time but you need to do some of that nasty 4 letter word WORK.

You do need to use them as a base and make them your own.

So if you have questions on how best to do that take the time to ask your questions below in the comments.
