Traffic is the key once you have completed your editing of your private label rights package and gotten it online. It does not matter if you created a list building system or a paid product your next step is to generate traffic to your system.
Now there are numerous ways to do that. The quickest is to pay for traffic whether it be PPC or banner advertising. The downside is that it can end up costing you more than you make. Now I will use this in a limited way to test out the process and get quick traffic but I prefer using some of the “free” traffic generation techniques.
Yes, I did put free in quotes for a reason. There is always time or outsourcing to pay for whether with cash or your sweat. The good part is that most of the “free” traffic will take a bit of time to start working but once they do will continue to work for you off of the initial effort.
Free traffic sources can be article writing, blogging, various web 2.0 sites, and much more. You can get tips and tricks on 15 different ways to drive traffic at Top Traffic Tips.
The thing is the key to getting the most out of all of these ways is targeting the right keywords. Even with PPC finding the right keywords that people are searching for WHEN they are looking for a solution is the key.
After all the key is to attract people who are willing to pay and not in research mode.
There are a variety of free tools that you can use to do this but you will pay with your time. That is why I use Market Samurai for my keyword research. You can get a free trial and see if it is for you and go through the training they supply.
This will show you how to find keywords to target that will drive targeted buyers to your new site. This will save you a tremendous amount of either time or wasted money targeting the wrong keywords to generate traffic to your new product or squeeze page.
The big problem that most people have is finding a niche and doing the research. I had mentioned Affiliate Niche Packs a while back but with a new year starting these are definitely something to check out.
Each pack comes with
Detailed niche description
Who your target market for this niche is
List of affiliate products available

15 different author resource boxes
2 different detailed marketing plans (beginner and advanced) with action steps to get you up and running right away.

Mike Paetzold got started blogging in 2003 and has become an expert on using WordPress. He has become known as The WordPress Guy.
After being an under ground niche marketer using his blogs he has surfaced to share some of the ways he uses PLR to enter various niches profitably.
Last post about using PLR articles I went through how I can use them for creating a new list building system. Today I’ll start (yes just start because it will be a multi-part series) on how I use them to create niche sites.
Now I belong to Expert Content Monthly and get 12 topics each month with about 25 articles on each topic. The first thing I do is start running each topic through Market Samurai to find out which ones look to be the most profitable.
Now you can do this without buying software and I went over how to do that in EZ Keyword Research but the time savings if you are doing this regularly make the purchase of quality software a no brainer.
For me I will usually do no more than 3 of the 12 and look for the topics that are generating the highest ad words cost at least initially.
Once I find a high paying topic the next step is to find 6- 8 keywords that are mid range competitive but the most profitable at least from the aspect what advertisers are willing to spend.
Each of those 6 – 8 keywords I will drill down further looking for profitable phrases with good traffic and low competition. If I can’t find long tail words that are relatively easy to rank for I will go to a different topic.
If I can find them I build my keyword tree. The keyword tree will look like this.
Then go look for a keyword rich domain on my topic. This is just the first step and will get into step 2 next time. Any questions or improvements you can suggest just leave a comment.

Now there are a few problems that you may have when looking at getting into a new niche. You need to know…
Who your target market is
What affiliate products are available
Find a good domain name
Do the keyword research
Get content ideas
Create your marketing plan
What PLR products are available for the topic
These niche packs from Suzanne Meyers do all of that and more. I do not know Suzanne but she was recommended to me by Nicole Dean. I immediately grabbed the one she has on blogging and after reviewing it knew that I would be grabbing others on topics that interest me as they come out.
All the hard research is done and having that makes it very easy to create profitable niche sites or blogs.
Currently there are two topics (blogging, getting out of debt) but Suzanne is adding more and for the price they are a steal.
There are lots of older private label rights ebooks available for free or very cheap. You could do some massive editing, add new graphics and a new sales letter and have a product but there is an easier way to re-purpose these into a profitable form.
First do the keyword research on that topic and find the best buying keywords. (This is something you should be doing for every project.) If you are not sure how to do that check out the keyword research call.
Find a minimum of 3 or 4 good affiliate products you can promote that match that topic.
Take each chapter and create a quick article slanted towards one of your keywords you created.
Now each of these can become part of an ecourse. Create a squeeze page to give away the ecourse and build your list. Add an affiliate offer to each ecourse lesson as a ps where appropriate.
Now submit the articles to various directories to drive traffic to your squeeze page. This allows you to build a list and have an automated income source easily.
You can take it to a higher level by adding a blog and using your articles or versions of them there before you submit them to the directories.
These are easy ways to take advantage of some of the dust collectors on your hard drive and create a hands free income source with a small amount of one time effort.
Now go do it.

Yesterdays post brought out a topic to be expanded so I figured it would be good to address them here. First a review of what was discussed.
One of the most common types of PLR (private label rights) that you will find is article packs. These can be a great way to get a variety of content for new or existing web sites. You have probably seen the various monthly memberships where you get a variety of articles on different topics, You need to do the keyword research first though.
One I use is Expert Content Monthly. I get 12 topics with 25 articles on each topic. This makes great content for niche blogs but…
Not all of the topics are equally valuable.
Now when I decide to do a topic there are some expenses in both time and money so it is not likely that I will do all twelve. After all I need to get an appropriate domain, install a new blog (although that has gotten easier with Expert WordPress), I need to redo the articles a bit to make them unique to me and then I need to start a linking strategy.
One of the questions was
Takeaway, you need to focus time and energy where they will have the greatest payoff. When you set up these sites up, it appears that Adsense is your only way to monetize them. Is it really worth the effort?
First I use Adsense as an initial way to monetize this type of site. It is quick and easy and helps me to see if people are buyers by the number of clicks. As I track the ads they click it allows me to see what type of items they are interested in.
This allows me to find affiliate offers that match the type of items they are clicking through to get. I will also be adding some standard items to the sidebars such as Amazon and other affiliate programs.
The sites that end up being the most successful almost always lose the Adsense as they grow. It is a great way to test things out and decide whether the topic is worth more effort because you do need to focus on the best payoff.
It only takes me about 6 hours total to set up the site, tweak and add the content, create some back links to see if it works. Then if it starts to earn spend the time to max it out. That is why the keyword research is so important to find the phrases you can generate traffic from quickly.
The keyword research before starting helps to sort the topics then the actual results from the initial site make it easy to see of it is worth more effort.

This can be a valuable start if you find which topics are most likely to be profitable and which topics with in that niche have sufficient traffic but not much competition. Looking at this month’s topics in the first 3 I checked I found one where the ad words cost per click was three times the others.
If advertisers are paying more you can make more on Adsense and the odds are really good that there are products available to promote as an affiliate. Now as long as there are keyword phrases that get sufficient traffic and are buying phrases this is worth the time and effort.
After all it will cost you $8 for a domain, hosting costs, either your time or money to get the articles targeted properly and start a linking strategy. You need to have a reasonable expectation of making a profit to spend the time or money. Picking the right topic is the key but it takes a bit of keyword research.
These types of packages tend to be generic but if you have created a good keyword list you can adapt the articles for the specific keywords that you have found that are golden. (You know the ones with good traffic, low competition and costly ad words clicks.)
For example I just created a site on Colon Cleansing. In doing the research I was able to find 12 different phrases that could be targeted from the articles that have very little competition, competitive pricing on ad words and good traffic volume.
I can use these terms to make the articles unique to me and have keyword phrases that are easy to rank for at the same time.
Keyword research is the key to doing this. Steve Roye and I did a one hour call on exactly how to do this with free tools and you can grab the transcript, recording, checklists and workbook at Keyword Research Call.
If you are not doing the research and tweaking the content you end up wasting your time, effort and money.

One of the big secrets to using PLR (private label rights) products is to do your keyword research first. After all if the topic does not have people interested in buying information or you can’t get traffic realtively easily you probably won’t do well there no matter how good the PLR is and how well you make it your own.
One of the good things with doing the research first is you often can find a way to use the PLR to what I would call “nichify it”.
For example you have a report on lead generation. It is a very broad topic but you could personalize the report to
Disabilty Lawyers
Car Dealers
Insurance Agents
Real Estate Agents
just to name a few groups that would be interested in better lead generation. Actually any sales business would be interested in such a product.
The key is which group would be most likely to buy and spend money on that type of product? Which group can you compete easily in?
Doing good keyword research will allow you to find out which of these areas would be most likely to succeed. Now you have a place to start and once that is successful you can reframe the product for the next best niche on that topic.
Now I have not done the research but if you did this and focused on Disabilty Lawyers, tweaked the product to specifically address them and ranked in the serps for terms they would be searching for you should do well.
If during your reseach you found that Insurance Agents was close to being as easy you could now redo the product specifically for them once you have the first one going.
This is why doing some keyword research can pay off many times over if you do it first. Other wise (and again I did not research this) you might try to point your product to Real Estate Agents and find that you have way too much competition or worse no one is buying things in that area.
To find out more on doing keyword research check out the call Steve Roye and I did where we walk you through exactly how to..
Why do you need to find the right niche first?
Where can I find those truly golden nugget keywords for my niche? Get this right and you may need to increase your bandwidth.
How will I recognize them when I do?
Why traffic stats are not the biggest concern when doing keyword research? Wasting time, effort and money on non converting keywords is not only frustrating it can be wasteful.
How much competition is too much? This will let you know in advance exactly how hard you will need to work to get the results you wish.
