Often I talk about a variety of PLR reports that become available. Today lets walk through the process to take the report you just purchased and put it into use. I have mapped out the process I go through to use a PLR report.

Now I have only covered 3 options that I usually use a report for. You could use it just for content but I will be doing future posts on using PLR articles which will apply to reports too.

Here is the mind map of the process. You will notice that a lot of the steps are very similar.

You start with buying a quality PLR report from a place like Easy PLR. Now you have to make one of three choices.

• Make it a product
• Make it a giveaway report
• Make it an e-course

The choice is yours. The steps will be very similar no matter which choice you make.

First step is to edit it and make it your own changing the format in the case of an e-course to a series of emails instead of a report you are going to sell or give away.

Next you need web pages to either sell the report, 3 page squeeze page system to either give the report away or to get people to sign up for the e-course.

The final step is to promote the pages you created. Now there are hundreds of different ways for you to do this but if you just get started and do this right away you will soon be profiting from your purchase.

The big thing is to use right away what you buy. That PLR report that looked so good when you grabbed it does you no good on your hard drive.

More and more you are seeing video PLR products being released. The latest was Jeremy Burns Source Code Goldmine 9 which this time was 100% video products. Edmund Loh will be releasing a great package on Tuesday that will be video based.

Despite this I think that most people are scared of PLR video products. They think it is too hard to turn them and make them unique to you. Consequently they either just reuse them as is and try and compete on price or just ignore them totally. Both will hurt your business.

Recently a good friend of mine Joel Osborne asked a question on Buzz and on his blog titled “Whats Your PLR Limit?” about how many licenses you should allow for new PLR products.

Now before we start this will be looked at from a purchasers prospective and not from a sellers or affiliate promoters perspective. Having a limited offer creates a deadline and implies more value. If it is a package I am going to sell to others having a deadline improves sales.

Now understanding all of that from the sellers side how much difference does it make from the purchasers side?

Here it will depend on what you do with the PLR. If you do what you should be doing it won’t make much difference at all.

Lets use Source Code Goldmine as an example. This offer was limited time but was not limited in the number of packages and sold quite a few. My guess would be a lot more than the 75-100 limit you see on most PLR packages.

The products I got from there that I have used have done quite well despite all of the competition but…

• What I put out was different from what I received
• Everything got edited and added my own bonuses on this that I used
• New graphics in places and often added or subtracted information from the original package

Now shortly after the sale I saw a lot of people just throw up the various products as is and try and compete on price. Not sure those people did well with them.

On one or two I probably saw emails for the same thing from 5 different sources each at a lower price than the previous offer. Not very smart.

The key is that for the purchaser there are only a couple thing that matter because 99% of the people won’t put in any serious effort into using the PLR products.

The quality of the product is much more important than the number of copies and the actual rights that you get to it.

Unfortunately not everything has the same rights and knowing and understanding what you can and can’t do with the PLR and its quality are much more important to making it profitable for you as a purchaser than the number of licenses available.

That is one of the reasons that there are only certain people like Nicole Dean, Joel Osborne, Doug Champigny and a few others that I will promote their PLR products. And I would do that whether they continue to limit their packages or not.

It is the quality and the license that really matters not the number of licenses. Just my humble opinion now let me know what yours is in the comments below.

Saturday I wrote about Joel Osborne’s new PLR release but I felt it was important for you to understand how you can take a package like this and turn it into a cash cow easily.

Joel’s package includes..

* 34 page ebook – 16,800 words(DOC and .PDF file included)

* ebook cover graphics (multiple sizes, blank and titled version included, with .JPG and .PSD file)

and after the fact he added a short promo video. At the time I am writing this there are still packages available but as it is limited to 75 they will go fast so go grab Skyrocketing Tactics.

This particular product is targeted towards beginning marketers starting online and if that is your target here is what I would do.

Go through and personalize the book and add my links where various necessary tools are mentioned like an autoresponder, hosting or other items that a new marketer will need in my case I would mention The Marketers Hosting because it is an all in one solution for the new person’s hosting, autoresponder and affiliate program.

Set up the sales page and download pages with the edited book I created.

Use the video to create a squeeze page and follow it up with the what a person needs to do that is talked about in the book and recommend they grab the book to see exactly how to do it.

Use the content of book as the basis of articles on the various topics the book covers and send people to the squeeze page in the signature file.

Now there are a lot of other ways I could add to drive traffic but the key would always be to send those people to a squeeze page and use the e-course to sell the product.

Then you could add more traffic sources and find more related products and affiliate products that you can recommend to your subscribers.

Get the pages up and stick a blog behind it.

Edit the articles and use them for blog content and for article submissions. Want to take it up a level use the process in Sunday Night Cash Plan to convert them to videos and podcasts for more traffic.

Finally rinse and repeat with the other two products.
