Private Label Rights – Use Them Quickly

Private Label Rights – Use Them Quickly

By Mike Paetzold – Copyright 2009 – All Rights Reserved

Your mind set can make a huge difference in using private label rights products effectively. Personally, I feel and have found that if I get private label rights items I need to consume them in 24 hours.

If I do that, I don’t end up with a bunch of digital dust collectors on my hard drive. After all I am sure if you have been on line six months or more you have some of those on your hard drive too.

Here is how I try to do this. Yes, I said try. There are times that I will grab a package of PLR for an upcoming project and not use it immediately but I try to keep that to a minimum.

The first step is to create a folder to download the package to so I can find it easily. Now there are dozens of ways to categorize those but that would be an entirely new article. For our example we will use a folder called PLR with a sub folder of the topic. Download your purchase or gift to that folder you have created.

Unzip your file in that folder. This way all of the files will be in one place for that product.

Now each product will be different but most will have the web pages, a document file, may be a pdf and there always should be a license document. Make sure that you read the license before you start. This way you will be aware of all the terms.

If this were a private label rights ebook product there are three main things you will need to do before you can use the product as your own.

  1. Edit the book
  2. Change the graphics
  3. Edit the pages

To get started open the word document in your favorite word processing software. Go through and read the book. Make notes as you read of what is good and what needs more clarification.

Make your additions and deletions to create a book unique to you. Add in appropriate affiliate links, add an about the author section and re-title the book to be unique.

Most private label rights packages come with the psd files to make editing the graphics easy. You can use your favorite graphics program to create a new look to your graphics. This is an area that for me I outsource it. Once I have the new book title and domain I will order up a new set of graphics.

Either way you will need to change the graphics to get the most from your product.

Finally you will edit the pages you receive. Adding in the graphics you changed and setting up your payment button are the must do items.

You may want to change the offer by adding a bonus or two that are unique to you. The more you do to make your product unique the more valuable it will be.

Now the first time you do this you probably will not be done in 24 hours but if you get in the habit of using private label rights products as soon as you get them you will find yourself with a lot less digital dust and more profit making sites.

Adding YOU To Your PLR

Adding YOU To Your PLR

by Mike Paetzold – Copyright 2009 – All rights reserved

YOU are the key to getting the most out of any private label rights products you use.

The big problems people have when using private label rights products is competing with the same product. It does not matter whether it is an e-book, articles, audio or even videos. Too many people are looking for the big red easy button and not adding themselves to the product. Usually because it involves that 4 letter word – WORK.

They want to immediately turn the product around and then end up trying to compete on a price basis with all the others that were looking for the easy button. No one makes money and everyone ends up frustrated. Part of the unfair bad reputation private label rights has gotten comes from this.

The key to using private label rights is to make it yours. You are unique. Add YOU into the mix and now you have something unique and no longer have to try and compete on a price basis.

Articles are a perfect example.

It is really easy to see that the person creating them was paid by the word. They cover the same ground more than once without a benefit to the reader. Now, in my case, my regular readers like my style specifically because I tend to be concise. I cover topics and give step by step ways to use the content.

If I were to use PLR articles unchanged on one of my blogs it would cause a huge disconnect with my regular readers. This does not mean that I cannot use them for research. I can take two or more articles, combine them to my concise style and use them as the research for my topic.

Working as the editor I can save time and create a better article in 25% of the time it would take me from scratch.

The same applies to using private label rights to create a product. This is especially true when it will be used with my name in a niche I specialize in. People expect a certain style from you. If you have built up expertise and you can cause a huge disconnect if it does not match your style.
If the product will be a free giveaway a bit of editing and adding the appropriate links may be all that is needed. Create or order a unique graphic and it can be good to go.

A product for sale will take a bit more effort.

I will usually read the initial product, make a list of what is unclear or needs more information. Either find a complimentary product to fill the gaps or fill the gaps myself.

If it is lacking you can find two or more similar products and combine them to create a new product. It covers more or goes into more detail than either did by themselves.

I still need to change the graphics, titles and sales letter to make it mine but now I no longer am competing against the easy button pushers on price. I have a valuable unique product that is MINE.

The key is to add YOU in to your private label rights usage. This will give you a huge advantage and you will find private label rights products to be a great addition to your business.

Private Label Rights – Reuse Your Content More Than Once

by Mike Paetzold – Copyright 2009 – All rights reserved

Private label rights are a great way to generate more content. You can do numerous things with the content like creating a product, using them for articles but one of the least used is to create audios and videos from the content.

With the advent of the various podcasting sites like I Tunes, Podcast Alley and others and the various video sites like You Tube, Viddler, etc these can become a great way to generate additional traffic.

Few people do this because they think it is too hard or too expensive.
Let’s deal with the latter first – expense.

First apologies to the MAC users I know there are similar programs available on a MAC but because I have never used a MAC I will be discussing the how to in a Windows environment.

If your computer does not have a microphone you will need to buy one. It is a good idea to buy one of the USB microphones to improve the quality anyhow but you initially can get started with a regular microphone.

You can use a free program called Audacity for creating and editing your sound files. Create your files in mp3 format and you can use the files as a podcast. The easiest way to publish the podcast is using a WordPress blog with the Podpress plugin.

Next you will need a program to create power point slides. If you have Microsoft Office you can use that or you can download the Open Office software and use that.

Finally you will need a video program. I use Camtasia along with Microsoft Power Point because they integrate together but if you cannot afford Camtasia or Microsoft Office you can use Cam Studio with the presentation mode of Open Office to do the same thing.

So it obviously does not need to be expensive to do this.

It does not have to be hard either.

To create your audio you can just open Audacity hit the record button and speak your article into the microphone. Export it as an mp3. Upload the mp3, log in to your blog and create a post with the podcast. Submit your podcast feed to the various directories like I Tunes, Podcast Alley and others.

To do a video create a power point of the content. Do a screen capture of the power point while you speak the content. Publish it in one of the video formats that the video sites accept. Upload the video file to the video sites.

You have now taken the same information and made it available in multiple versions so you can draw traffic and build the relationship with more people and you are giving them the content in the format they prefer.

You can do the same thing to add value to a product that you create from private label rights by supplying it in audio and video formats instead of just providing a written version.

Double Your PLR Sales Easily

Double Your PLR Sales Easily

by Mike Paetzold – Copyright 2009 – All Rights Reserved

The key to doing well with any product whether it is a PLR product that you have made your own or a product that you created is to have a way to continue to follow up with visitors. This can improve your sales significantly with a minimum of extra effort.

You took the time and edited your PLR product. You bought a domain. You set up everything you need to sell it.

1. You put up the sales page.
2. You added a payment button.
3. You created a download page.
4. You tested everything (Something people have been known to forget.)

You start sending traffic but even if you have a great sales letter most people will not buy the first time they see your page. Whether you are paying for that traffic with your time or money adding a way to continue the conversation can greatly increase your return on your investment.

This is not a new concept but despite the wide spread knowledge of this fact most do not do it. (Blushing and raising my hand to that all too often.) Usually it is because of that L word – lazy. For some though the thought of creating a follow up series is simply overwhelming.

Most of the better autoresponders will allow you to create some sort of lead capture page. This can be added either directly to your sales or it can be slide in or pop up.that can be added to your sales page with just a line or two of code that they provide so that is not a major stumbling block.

The big stumbling block is writing the follow up series. This does not need to be the huge stumbling block that most of us make it. Yes I said most I had this problem for quite a while I am in there too.

My key for overcoming that is what I call What – Why – How. If you look at most information products isn’t that exactly what they provide? What you should be doing, why you need to do it and exactly how to do it. If that is your product and most are then this method will work well for you.
If you have 10 chapters just create a 10 part e-course. In each e-mail explain what needs to be done to educate your subscriber and then explain why they need to do it. Make sure to give them the benefit they receive for doing this.

Finally end up with how your product will show them exactly how to do that with a link back to your sales letter.

This simple formula gives you an easy outline to create a follow up e-mail series for any product.

Add these to your autoresponder, use the form generator your autoresponder supplies and add the code to your sales page offering your e-course. Now you will be able to continue to follow up with those who did not buy your product and build the relationship until they are ready to buy.

PLR – Use It For Your Ezine Content

PLR – Use It For Your Ezine Content

by Mike Paetzold – Copyright 2009 – All rights reserved

Everyone tells you that the money is in the list but the real money is in the relationship you build with your list. To quote Jeffrey Gitomer “All things being equal, people want to do business with their friends. All things being NOT so equal, people STILL want to do business with their friends.”

So providing quality information for your subscribers is a good way to create that relationship and ultimately make you more sales. Getting good content can be a bit of a drag at times. I am sure you have sat down at the computer, pulled up a blank page and just stared because of the dreaded “writers block’.

Here is where PLR (private label rights) content can help you get started.
Now once again it is important to make sure that you know the rights for any product you are going to use. If you have an article package on your topic you can use that for content.

Take the time to do a bit of re-writing to give the content your voice and you have easily overcome your writers block. Your voice is very important in your ezine.

For example I tend to be a bit plain spoken, get to the point type of writer. I write in simple language and tend not to use fancy words. My instructional writing tends to be very concise Now this is what my subscribers expect. They like that style or they would have unsubscribed and read someone else that provides information in a manner they like.
If I were to use an article with lots of big words or droning on and on my readers would disconnect quickly. They are not expecting that type of content from me.

So PLR articles can be a perfect way with a bit of effort to generate content for your ezine. It is far from being the only way to do that. Have a PLR e-book on your topic?

Split the pieces apart to create your content. (Subject to the rights of course.)

Have PLR audios? Use that as your research for your ezine content. This can be a very easy way to put together an article for your ezine. Grab the good old legal pad and a pen (or if you are more techie open up your mind map). Do a quick outline and you now have the ideas to create your content.

I don’t know about you but for me once I have a topic and an outline writing is a piece of cake. Getting the ideas and the topic I want to cover is where I sit staring at that blank piece of paper. Feeling the frustrations building up and getting ready to break something.

The point is that any piece of PLR content whether it is an article, an e-book, an audio or a video can easily be used to create content for your ezine.

Easily Create Your Product From PLR

Easily Create Your Product From PLR

by Mike Paetzold – Copyright 2009 – All rights reserved.

You have downloaded a new PLR package and you want to make it yours exactly where do you start?

The absolute first thing is to read the license. Find out exactly what you can and most importantly what you can’t do with it.

Take the time to read the product, listen to it or watch it depending on the type of product. Take notes as you go through it and mark what you like and what it may be missing. Every product will have pluses and minuses so be realistic in your assessment but these notes will be valuable when you start your editing.

Now you have an idea of the quality of product you have. You know the exact rights you have. It is time to make a decision.

You can use this any number of ways subject to your rights.

1. As an “ethical bribe” to build your list
2. As a product that you can sell
3. As content for any number of things like articles, podcasts and videos
4. It may be something that you need to add more to it

For the balance of this article we will assume you are going to use it as a product and it is an e-book. The e-book is almost good enough as is. If it is not you could combine a couple products and combine them to make a product using the same basic techniques.

Go back to your notes and we will now edit the e-book. Put your voice into it. Add content where it needs it to increase the value that you provide to your customers. Once you have made your edits and added any appropriate links you need to add your own about the author information. This is where you can promote your agenda.

Quick aside – For a paid product you should only add limited links. For example if you are talking about building a squeeze page which requires web hosting a link to your preferred web host would be okay. Just make sure any links on a paid product add to its value. If you are creating a giveaway product you can use more links.

Once you have finished editing the e-book it is time to come up with a name and new graphics. I prefer to create the title, check to see if I can get a domain that goes with the title. If not I will keep trying different titles and domains until I get a good match. Now it is time to edit the graphics.

If I received psd files and can just change the names I will usually do it myself. If they don’t I will usually outsource it. What you do depends on your skill with graphics. The main thing is to make sure that you have good graphics for your new product that are different from what you received. You need to be unique.

Next you will need to edit the sales letter. Depending on the quality of the sales letter and how many changes you made to the e-book you may need just minor changes primarily in the graphics or it may need a total re-write. You need to make sure that you have a good offer. You can add unique bonuses (maybe another PLR product that you have redone) to increase the value.

Add your payment buttons and download pages and you are now ready to start promoting it.

5 Ways To Use PLR To Build Your Business

5 Ways To Use PLR To Build Your Business

by Mike Paetzold – Copyright 2009 – All rights reserved

Private Label Rights or PLR are often misunderstood. Part of that is that some people misuse them and part is just plain old misunderstanding.

Private label rights have been used off line for ages. Go to most local grocery stores and you will find a variety of items carrying the store brand. In almost all cases they are not produced by the retailer but the retailer buys them from a manufacturer and has their label put on the product instead of the manufacturers.

The same is true with using PLR online. You are basically putting your label on it. Now realistically you will want to do more than that but it is what you are doing with it.

Here are 5 different ways you can use PLR to build your business.

#1 – Create your own product from PLR. This is one of the most common ways to use PLR and also probably the most misused. You need to make some changes and you need to add you to the mix. After all that will make your product unique. That way you are not stuck trying to compete via price the way a super market does with their private label products.

#2 – Create content for your ezine. For this you can use articles or take a PLR e-book and pull out sections. If you created a product find a related book split it up and set up your autoresponder.

#3 – Create a giveaway product or “ethical bribe” as I like to say to build your email list of subscribers. Find a PLR product that you potential customer would just have to have and you have a great list builder.

#4 – Create podcasts from the content. Getting your content out in many forms can help you to get more visitors. If you have a quality article you can easily read it out loud. A simple USB microphone and a piece of free software like Audacity and you can have a podcast. Take the time to submit it to the various podcast sites, especially I-Tunes to generate visitors to your offers.

#5 – Create videos from the content. It really isn’t that hard. There are PLR videos that you can edit or you can take the same article and create a power point slide show, add in your mp3 from the podcast and you now can take advantage of the massive traffic available at sites like You Tube. Video is the coming thing and you really need to make sure you are taking advantage of it.

These are 5 ways to use PLR or private label right to increase your business easily. There are others but this will get you started in using some of the digital dust that you are currently collecting on your hard drive.

Why a blog on PLR?

One of the things I am in the process of doing with my business is splitting up the various pieces into separate areas. As my interests have grown and I branch out into various areas I have found it is helpful to you, the reader, if I keep things to a topic.

That first started with my interest in WordPress and blogging. There has been a very specific blog that addresses that topic for quite some time. Now I will be gradually adding new, much more targeted blogs on specific topics within the various interests I follow.

PLR is the first of a few for a couple of reasons. PLR and the related topics of Master Resell Rights and Resell products are one of the most misunderstood and misused area in the internet marketing arena.

Most people have some on their hard drive. They never use them but they sound good so they keep adding to their digital dust collectors.

Even those that do use them do it in a way that does not work and then they get extremely frustrated. I know I have been there, have the t-shirt and coffee mug. It took a while for me to get where I was using then profitably.

So my goal is to supply you with actionable information to get rid of the dust collectors and make that content a valuable part of your business.

You will see how to lessons, product reviews and other information to help you consume PLR in a profitable way. Occasionally there will be information on other related topics such as traffic, copywriting and web sites. All things you will need to get the most out of your PLR.

Take the time to sign up for the updates in the upper right hand corner and hang around for the ride.
