5 Ways To Use PLR To Build Your Business

Private Label Rights or PLR are often misunderstood. Part of that is that some people misuse them and part is just plain old misunderstanding.
Private label rights have been used off line for ages. Go to most local grocery stores and you will find a variety of items carrying the store brand. In almost all cases they are not produced by the retailer but the retailer buys them from a manufacturer and has their label put on the product instead of the manufacturers.
The same is true with using PLR online. You are basically putting your label on it. Now realistically you will want to do more than that but it is what you are doing with it.
Here are 5 different ways you can use PLR to build your business.
#1 – Create your own product from PLR. This is one of the most common ways to use PLR and also probably the most misused. You need to make some changes and you need to add you to the mix. After all that will make your product unique. That way you are not stuck trying to compete via price the way a super market does with their private label products.
#2 – Create content for your ezine. For this you can use articles or take a PLR e-book and pull out sections. If you created a product find a related book split it up and set up your autoresponder.
#3 – Create a giveaway product or “ethical bribe” as I like to say to build your email list of subscribers. Find a PLR product that you potential customer would just have to have and you have a great list builder.
#4 – Create podcasts from the content. Getting your content out in many forms can help you to get more visitors. If you have a quality article you can easily read it out loud. A simple USB microphone and a piece of free software like Audacity and you can have a podcast. Take the time to submit it to the various podcast sites, especially I-Tunes to generate visitors to your offers.
#5 – Create videos from the content. It really isn’t that hard. There are PLR videos that you can edit or you can take the same article and create a power point slide show, add in your mp3 from the podcast and you now can take advantage of the massive traffic available at sites like You Tube. Video is the coming thing and you really need to make sure you are taking advantage of it.
These are 5 ways to use PLR or private label right to increase your business easily. There are others but this will get you started in using some of the digital dust that you are currently collecting on your hard drive.

Good solid set of ideas. I consider PLR to be research from which I can craft various projects. It is the raw material to which I add my own insights and mold into a variety of products. Your five suggestions are excellent. Your demonstration of idea five however was superb.

Good stuff, Mike – but it’s important to add that you have to check the rights that came with the PLR, since there are so many different ways a writer can restrict usage of the PLR they release. A good example is the ‘ethical bribe’ you refer to – many PLR authors specifically prohibit giving away the PLR product in any form, including any derivative products you create from it, while others come with no restrictions. Quality PLR will always show the terms on the salespage before you buy the product, so be sure your PLR is usable for the purposes you intend to use it for.

Terrific advice, Mike, But the sad part is how few people actually do this sort of thing when as have shown, it’s actually quite easy to do.
But alas, most people would rather promote somebody else and thousands of commissions away than invest a few dollars and bit sweat in themselves.

Good set of tips on using PLR Mike. But as your said in each of your tips, you want to create. PLR should be use to “create” your content, not used as your content.

All great ideas Mike. This list is a great way to use PLR content to build your business. I have quite a bit of “digital dust” that I intent to start using to create my own products. It does take work though as you need to take the time to make the PLR content your own.
